Application and Software Developer
Application and Software Developer (State Street Bank and Trust Company; Quincy , Massachusetts): A Java application developer that will support State Street’s Global Corporate Action System (“GCAS”). The position plays a critical role in supporting the GCAS application to ensure that daily Corporate Actions notification, response, and instruction processing function adequately. Specific duties of the position include: designing, developing, and modifying software applications; communicating with all parties involved, such as developers, architects, and end users, who may be based in different locations and time zones; receiving and analyzing business application requirements and proposing appropriate solutions that adhere to the team’s methodology; and providing daily business support, troubleshooting, and problem resolution for various GCAS interfaces such as SMAC (Securities Movement and Control), GSMAC (Global Securities Movement and Control), GIC (Global Income Control).
Minimum requirements: Master’s degree or equivalent degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical field plus 3 years of experience with Java programming. Alternatively, will accept a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical field plus 5 years of experience with Java programming.
Must have: Demonstrated experience with software development tools, technologies, and methodologies, including Java, Java Swing, SQL, PL/SQL, and Unix Scripting; proven solid knowledge of modern dynamic and scripting languages; demonstrated experience with IBM MQ Series, REST Web Services, and Junit; demonstrated solid knowledge of Java RMI; demonstrated experience tuning SQL queries; demonstrated experience with the Rational Unified Process; proven solid knowledge of GitHub, Jazz, and RTC; and demonstrated experience working in the finance industry. (Unless otherwise indicated, State Street is seeking the ability in the skills listed above with no specific number of years of experience required. All experience can be gained concurrently.)
